Design thinking: 500+ tools and resources

Purpose: This curated online directory, called Public Design Vault, aims to provide an “all-in-one, a full-stop one-stop, a mother list of lists, a singularity for the plethora of toolkits and resources that are available on the vast internet.” It aims to include “all the well-known usual suspects” as well as “a few diamonds in the rough.”

Description: The tools and resources are provided in collections, including a “starter kits for newbies”. Fifteen collections show the general phases of a design project. They are:

  3. Team building
  4. Design research
  5. Empathy
  6. Synthesis/sensemaking
  7. Reframing
  8. Brainstorming
  9. Ideation process
  10. Prototyping
  11. User testing
  12. Iteration
  13. Implementation

  15. Funding.

More than 60 additional collections cover specific topics or do not easily fall into a particular design phase. Those most relevant to research integration and implementation are:
