The International Academy for Systems and Cybernetic Sciences (IASCYS) is open to all "organizations covering or applying systems theories and cybernetics around the world." The Academy has two major missions: academic research and the promotion of education in systems science and cybernetics at all education levels. IASCYS sponsors selected international research meetings and also organises workshops at such meetings. Every two years, with the Bertalanffy Centre for the Study of Systems Science, IASCYS organises a PhD student day at the European Meeting on Cybernetics and Systems Research. Individual academicians are selected competitively and must be members of, and nominated by, one of the associations affiliated with the International Federation for Systems Research. IASCYS was established in 2010 by the International Federation for Systems Research.
